John Rety died from a sudden heart attack on the 3rd February. There are obituaries in the Camden New Journal, the Financial Times, in Freedom and on the English Chess Federation website. The memorial service for John will be from 6-10pm on Friday 19th March, at the Art Workers Guild, 6 Queen Square, Bloomsbury, London WC1N 3AT. (Nearest tube Holborn or Russell Square).
